Rotations

< 1 min read

Rotations serve as shift templates, enabling you to create, save, and reuse shift patterns for future schedules. Moreover, they can be used to ensure fair work distribution by suggesting preferred employees to work particular shifts in a specific order or pattern.

There are two primary ways to use rotations:

1. Patterns of standard shifts without preferred employees: Create templates that define the structure of your standard shifts. (e.g., hours, category, skills, etc.)

Use these templates to generate new unassigned shifts, which can then be assigned to employees.

In this format, no preferred employees are defined — the system will determine which employees are most suitable, based on rules such as availability, skills, and employment rules.

Example: 7-day rotation without preferred employees.

2. Patterns of standard shifts with preferred employees: Create templates of your standard shifts and choose specific employees to work specific shifts within a recurring time period.

During scheduling, the system will prioritize the preferred employees, provided that no critical factors such as availability, skills, and employment rules are violated.

Example: 28-day rotation with preferred employees defined with a particular pattern. The system will prioritize them for the assignments.
